CAPT Board Meeting

The Carolinas Association for Passenger Trains will meet in Hendersonville, NC at the historic Southern Railway
train depot on Saturday, July 15, 2023. The depot houses the Apple Valley Model Railroad Museum which
will celebrate it's 40th year in 2024. The address is 650 Maple Avenue, Hendersonville, NC 28792.
Further information is available on the museum at
Apple Valley Model Railroad Club. The meeting will be from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm in the meeting room at the depot. Parking is available around and near the site.
Before the meeting there will be an opportunity for lunch at the Flat Rock Wood Room nearby at 1501 Greenville Highway at 11:30 am. If you'd like to join us please indicate your intention to come as a reservation will have to be made for the group to assure seating. Restaurant information is available at

After lunch there will be an opportunity to spend time at the Apple Valley Model Railroad Museum before our meeting which will start after business hours beginning at 2:00 pm.

*Larry Morton with the Apple Valley Railroad Museum, and his committee exploring rail passenger opportunities between Hendersonville and Asheville will update us. Also, there will be an update on a similar effort between Saluda and Hendersonville being headed by Mark Ray of the Saluda Depot. Afterward a discussion will take place on these issues, and status of rail trail efforts along the Saluda grade line between Saluda and Inman, SC.
