CAROLINAS ASSOCIATION FOR PASSENGER TRAINS
RIDGEWAY, S.C., MEETING
AUGUST 19, 2006


The Carolinas Association for Passenger Trains will meet at Old Towne Restaurant in Ridgeway, S.C. on Saturday, August 19th. The restaurant is located at 140 North Palmer Street in the middle of town near the Norfolk Southern Columbia-Charlotte mainline. The phone number is 803 337-8829.

Lunch will be at 11:30 am. The meeting should get underway at 12:30 pm and end by 2:30 pm. After the meeting there will be the opportunity to ride the Rockton and Rion passenger excursion from the South Carolina Railroad Museum in nearby Winnsboro. The drive from Ridgeway over to Winnsboro takes about 15 minutes.

The Rockton and Rion now offers a ten mile round trip. We plan to take the 3 pm departure. Fare is $10 for adults ( actually 12 years old and up ). Children up to 11 years old can ride for $7. The first class ticket for all ages is $14. The museum is located at the corner of SC 34 and Industrial Park Road near US 321 south of Winnsboro. It's five miles west of I-77 ( Exit 34 ) on SC 34.
