Carolinas Association for Passenger Trains

June 2008 Meeting Details

CAPT Board Meeting
Raleigh, N.C.
June 23, 2008

CAPT will meet in Raleigh on Monday, June 23rd. The meeting will be held from 12:00 - 4:00 p.m. at the Golden Coral Restaurant located at 6129 Glenwood Avenue. Lunch, which will be "Dutch Treat", is from noon to 1:00 p.m. The phone number for the restaurant is 919 523-2822. The only requirement the restaurant has on our using their meeting room, is that everyone eats lunch as part of the meeting.

For those arriving via Amtrak's Carolinian, a local contingent will meet you at the Amtrak station. I would ask that as many of you that can, please join us at the station and help transport those arriving by train to the restaurant and return at the end of the meeting. Your assistance here is greatly appreciated.

Mr. Brad Schulz, Communications Officer with Triangle Transit, will bring us up to speed on what is happening in the Triangle toward rail service and related items.

The agenda for the meeting is as follows:

  • Welcome
  • Presentation by Mr. Brad Schulz, Triangle Transit
  • Treasurer's report
  • Secretary's report
  • Update on planned resolution drive in South Carolina in support of expanded rail passenger service
  • CAPT newsletter status
  • Status of updated printing of CAPT brochure featuring maps of present and future rail service possibilities
  • Updates on rail developments across the Carolinas
  • Amtrak update
  • Reports by Officers and Directors
  • Planning for future meetings

After the meeting, we move back to the Raleigh Amtrak station to help those who came by train to return by train.

Hope to see all of you there.
