The Carolinas Association for Passenger Trains will meet at the new Cary Amtrak Station on Saturday, February 11th. The station is located at 211 Academy Street in downtown Cary. For those of you that prefer to drive, you can exit I-40 at Harrison Avenue and follow Harrison toward downtown Cary for about two miles. Just after you cross the first set of tracks (NS), you will turn left into the parking lot for the station.

For those of you coming by train, we will meet the Carolinian as it arrives into Cary at 10:02 a.m. After the station people have gotten everything caught up with the arrival, we will take a tour of the station about 10:30 a.m. Around 11:00 we will walk across the parking lot and Harrison Avenue to Roma's Italian Bakery for lunch. After lunch we will adjourn back to the station for the meeting. We will have to wait until 12:15 p.m. to permit all of the passengers on the Piedmont Service #75 to depart. The meeting should take us to approximately 4:30 p.m.

Our guest speaker will be from the Wake Up Wake organization, an organization that is driving the transit plans for Wake County. The speaker will bring us up on what is happening and what they see for the future for the Raleigh and the Triangle area.
