Carolinas Association for Passenger Trains

CAPT Board Meeting
September 16, 2017
Columbia, SC

The Carolinas Association for Passenger Trains will meet at the Central Midlands Regional Transit Authority’s (more popularly known as The COMET) headquarters on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at 1:00 pm. The address is 3613 Lucius Road in Columbia, SC.

If you are coming from I-77 North, proceed to Columbia and exit at Exit 18 which will put you on SC 277 into town. Before reaching downtown, however, take the exit for Beltline Boulevard/Palmetto Health Hospital and, at the bottom of this ramp, go right on Beltline Blvd. Proceed through the intersection for North Main Street until you reach a large intersection at the top of a hill. Go through this intersection (bearing slightly to the right) and continue down the other side of the hill. Just before the long bridge, you will see a street on the left side near a rental storage facility. This is Lucius Road. Proceed down this street to the gates of the CMRTA compound on the right. Go to their last entrance on the right. You can park anywhere you find a space as these spots are not restricted to anyone.

If you are coming down I-26 from the west, proceed to Columbia and get off at the Greystone Boulevard (otherwise known as the “Zoo exit”) and proceed down Greystone Blvd. away from the zoo. You will pass by lots of car dealerships until you reach a traffic light and you must go either right or left. Turn right and you will be on Broad River Road. Proceed down this road and go over a large, new bridge. Just past this bridge, on your right, you will see a street near a large rental storage facility. This street is Lucius Road. Proceed down this street to the gates of the CMRTA compound on the right. Go to their last entrance on the right. You can park anywhere you find a space as these spots are not restricted to anyone.

At the front door of The COMET’s building, you will have to be allowed in by pressing a button on the wall to your right. When you state you are here for the CAPT meeting, you will be “buzzed in”. Go straight down the hall and turn left at the end to reach the elevators to the second floor. On that floor, after getting off the elevator, turn to your left and go to the big meeting room straight ahead. If you get lost in the building, there are always folks there to give you directions.

Lunch or dinner before or after the meeting is on your own.
