The next meeting of Carolinas Association for Passenger Trains will be in Charlotte on Saturday, November 18, 2017.
The meeting will be in the meeting room at the Queen City Q Restaurant located at 225 East 6th Street,
Suite A, Charlotte, NC 28202. The phone number is 704.334.TheQ (8437).
Parking is in the 7th Street Station Building. All day Saturday parking is free with validation.
CAPT members will meet Amtrak train #73 for those arriving by train for the meeting.
Those departing by train later in the day will be returned to the train station.
The meeting starts with lunch at 11 a.m. The annual meeting will be from noon to 2 p.m.,
with the rest of the afternoon looking over the new Blue Line light rail extension. Service is expected to start March 18, 2017.
CAPT Official Notice of Election of Officers and Directors
Directors and Officers for the Carolinas Association for Passenger Trains will be elected at the November 18, 2017 Annual General Membership meeting in Charlotte, N.C. Directors serve terms of two years, and officers are elected yearly. The Board of Directors consists of 12 to 18 members based on the percentage of CAPT members in North Carolina and South Carolina. This serves as official notice of the annual meeting and elections. Any member interested in running for the board should contact any member of the present board and provide biographical information for consideration, or be prepared to provide this information in person at the meeting. Current directors who are ending a term of two years should notify Secretary Phil Astwood at astwoodp@bellsouth.net if the intention is to run again. Those who do not notify the Secretary, or appear at the meeting will not be considered. The current CAPT Board serves as the official Nominating Committee.
