The Annual Membership Meeting of the Carolinas Association for Passenger Trains will be held at the Landrum Library in Landrum, SC. The meeting will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2019, beginning at 11:30 AM and will conclude by 1:45 PM. The address of the library is 111 East Asbury Drive, Landrum, SC 29356 and the telephone number is (864) 457-2218. There is ample parking around the library building and the staff at the front desk will direct you to the meeting room.

For those driving from North Carolina heading east on I-26, take the first exit in SC (Exit #1) and go right on SC Highway 14 towards the town of Landrum. This highway is also known locally as East Rutherford Street. After about 2 miles, you will see East Asbury Drive on your right. For those driving west on I-26 (coming from I-85, Greenville/Spartanburg and points east such as Columbia) take Exit #1 and go left toward the town of Landrum on East Rutherford Street and in about 2 miles, the library and East Asbury Drive will be on your right.

After the meeting, for those wishing to meet for lunch, the Hare and Hound Pub/Restaurant is highly recommended. Some of you who attended a CAPT meeting in Landrum several years ago may have previously dined here. While a little pricey, the cuisine is excellent. Their telephone number is (864) 457-3232 and the website is http://www.thehareandhound.com for those of you who may like to see the menu in advance. The location is 101 East Rutherford Street, only about a mile west of the library and just before the railroad tracks in the middle of town. There are numerous other eateries in and around Landrum to suit other tastes and budgets.

CAPT Official Notice of Election of Officers and Directors

Directors and Officers for the Carolinas Association for Passenger Trains will be elected at the November 16, 2019, Annual General Membership meeting in Landrum, S.C. Directors serve terms of two years, and officers are elected yearly. The Board of Directors consists of 12 to 18 members based on the percentage of CAPT members in North Carolina and South Carolina. This serves as official notice of the annual meeting and elections. Any member interested in running for the board should contact any member of the present board and provide biographical information for consideration, or be prepared to provide this information in person at the meeting. Current directors who are ending a term of two years should notify Secretary Phil Astwood at astwoodp@bellsouth.net if the intention is to run again. Those who do not notify the Secretary, or appear at the meeting will not be considered. The current CAPT Board serves as the official Nominating Committee.
